A delegation of Council of Indian Exhibition Organisers (CIEO) comprising the Steering Committee Members held a marathon meeting today with the senior officials of the Ministry of Commerce Government of India in New Delhi.
The CIEO delegation apprised the senior ministry officials on the collective representation in the form of a Signature Campaign initiated by CIEO on the reversal of SOP’s, reduction of Venue rentals, waiver of cancellation and penal charges from both Government owned and Privately held Venues, consideration of ‘Lean Period’ for Exhibitions during FY21-22, & inclusion of the Exhibition Sector in the support schemes by Government.
The campaign was endorsed and signed by more than 200 Leading Indian organisers, Foreign Organisers with operations in India and Exhibition Service Providers.
The meting resulted with positive outcome and the assurance that the SOP shall be revised and the notification in this regards will be issued by early next week.
A more detailed press release on the other discussion, the delegation had with the ministry shall be released by CIEO in a day or two.
