Grand Inauguration: PM Narendra Modi Unveils YashoBhoomi – World’s Largest MICE Facility in Delhi
Elevating Global Events: A Glimpse into YashoBhoomi's Remarkable Features and Sustainability Achievements
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), YashoBhoomi, in Delhi’s Dwarka on September 17.
YashoBhoomi is poised to become one of the world’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities, boasting a vast project area exceeding 8.9 lakh square meters and a total built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters.
The convention center, spanning more than 73,000 square meters, encompasses 15 convention rooms, including the main auditorium, a ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms with a collective capacity to accommodate up to 11,000 delegates.
THE AUDITORIUM
The primary auditorium serves as the plenary hall for the convention center and is equipped to seat approximately 6,000 guests. It showcases an innovative automated seating system that allows for various seating configurations.
THE BALLROOM
Distinguished by its distinctive petal ceiling, the ballroom can accommodate around 2,500 guests, with an additional open area seating capacity for up to 500 people. The 13 meeting rooms, spread across eight floors, are thoughtfully designed to host a variety of meetings of different scales.
In addition to these exceptional facilities, YashoBhoomi also boasts one of the world’s most extensive exhibition halls, spanning over 1.07 lakh square meters. These expansive halls, seamlessly connected to a grand foyer space, are poised to host exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events. The foyer area is complemented by multiple support amenities, including media rooms, VVIP lounges, cloak facilities, a visitor information center, and ticketing counters.
According to authorities, YashoBhoomi is deeply committed to sustainability, featuring a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system with 100% wastewater reuse, rainwater harvesting, and rooftop solar panels. The campus has earned the prestigious Green Cities Platinum certification from CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
The convention center’s design incorporates materials and elements inspired by Indian culture, evident in the terrazzo floors adorned with brass inlay, artfully representing rangoli patterns. Additionally, the center features suspended sound-absorbent metal cylinders and illuminated patterned walls.
In line with the latest developments, YashoBhoomi will be conveniently connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, with the inauguration of a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25.
On September 17, PM Modi will also inaugurate the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, extending it from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25.
Delhi Metro authorities have announced an increase in the operational speed of metro trains on the Airport Express Line, elevating it from 90 to 120 km/hr, thereby significantly reducing travel time. The authorities have estimated that the entire journey from New Delhi to YashoBhoomi will now take approximately 21 minutes.
