TSEA: Asia’s First And Only Festival That Recognizes Excellence In The Events Industry

IBC Asia is proud to present Asia’s first and only festival that recognizes excellence in the events industry – The Special Event Asia. The Special Event Asia will be happening at Resorts World Sentosa on 18-19 November 2019, a spin-off of their long running event brand in The Middle East and America.

The Show Floor is separated into 4 unique zones, featuring different themes that showcase the best in the event sector. These zones will showcase various interactive display and demos from the ASEAN region’s leading event suppliers, including Tech and Innovation homegrown firms, as well as wine selection masterclass and roving illusionist to entertain your day.

Visitors to The Special Event Asia (TSEA) can also look forward to the Conference Hub which features 2 tracks, 4 themes across 2 days. The conference will be led by esteemed c-suite speakers across the events industry, covering area of focus such as Experiential & Brand Activations, Immersive Technology and Live Events In Focus.

An exclusive, Invite Only part of this event is the Awards Gala Dinner which aims to recognise and reward the achievements of those in the events industry in Asia across 19 awards categories. The awards were judged by a distinguished panel of judges with great industry experience from all over the world.

Sukumar Verma, IBC Asia

Sukumar has been with Informa for over 10 years. The last 5 years as Managing Director, he has been heading up the company’s Asian conference and corporate training business, IBC Asia. At a strategic level, his responsibilities include business planning, driving growth plans, developing market penetration initiatives and sourcing high value strategic alliances. He has led multicultural teams across the world, and his commercial experience extends across a range of geographies including Africa, South East Asia, China, Middle East and Asia Pacific. Prior to joining the knowledge and information economy, Sukumar enjoyed a successful career in the hospitality sector.

Kristy Castleton, Rebel & Soul

One of The Special Event Asia (TSEA) distinguished guests is Kristy Castleton who is the Founder and Chief Memory Maker of Rebel & Soul. She has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. She will be taking up two big roles during The Special Event Asia (TSEA) as a judge and a speaker.

Paulo Felisbino, Lumina and Mecury Live

Paulo Felisbino who has over 20 years of experience began his career with The Walt Disney Company, working in roles rooted in storytelling and brand experience. Now a General Manager of Lumina and Mecury Live, he has led projects across the Asian region, delivering creative and impactful concepts from high-end fashion and luxury events, music festivals and cultural exhibitions. Paulo is one of The Special Event Asia (TSEA) Awards Ceremony judges.

Marine Debatte, BI Worldwide

With over 10 years of experience in the events industry, Marine Debatte oversees the overall operation, project direction and management for BI WORLDWIDE as the Head of Events Solutions. Marine will also be sharing her experience as a speaker at The Special Event Asia (TSEA) Conference Hub.

Jonathan Seevaratnam, Jiggee

Jonathan Seevaratnam is well known in this niche industry specifically in Malaysia and Singapore. Jonathan who is the founder and CEO of Jiggee has done it all from small scale to big scale events. Jonathan who is also known as an entertainment guru, is the first Malaysian and second in Asia to be a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP). The CSEP designation is the hallmark of professional achievement in the special events industry. Jiggee is the official entertainment partner for The Special Event Asia (TSEA).

IBC Asia rebrands to Informa Connect Singapore

As part of a global brand synergy objective within the group, IBC Asia will now rebrand to Informa Connect Singapore which will take effect on 29th October 2019. Their name is changing, but their mission remains the same which is to deliver cutting edge knowledge and networking, entwined with an experience. The IBC Logo will be replaced by the Informa Connect logo in all online and print channels, and any communication initiated by them. Reference to the IBC brand will continue to be made till the end of the year.
