New Delhi/London: In a significant move to position India as a leading global destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE), Union Minister for Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal has reportedly called upon FICCI to develop a strategic Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework for promoting India’s MICE tourism in the United Kingdom.

The announcement was made during a business community meeting in London, where the Minister directed Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Past President of FICCI and Chairperson of The Lalit Hotels Group, to design the proposed PPP model.

The initiative is expected to be supported through the Government of India’s export promotion budget.

According to information shared by IDC Projects, the organisation has expressed its willingness to collaborate with Dr. Suri and FICCI in developing the framework. The proposed UK model is envisaged as a pilot that could later be replicated across other international markets to strengthen India’s global MICE positioning.

The initiative reflects the government’s growing focus on unlocking India’s untapped potential as a premier MICE destination by leveraging public-private collaboration and targeted international market development.

TradeFairTimes will continue to monitor developments on the proposed PPP framework and its implications for India’s exhibitions and business events industry.
