India’s MICE industry received a significant boost with the launch of URJATVA and the unveiling of the ONGC Urja Bharat Convention Centre (UBCC) at the ONGC Advanced Training Institute (ATI) in South Goa.
Developed within a 250-acre integrated campus, the new destination brings together modern convention and exhibition facilities, premium accommodation, training infrastructure and hospitality services, positioning itself as a promising new venue for business events in India.
The launch programme brought together leading professionals from the MICE, exhibition, convention, tourism and hospitality sectors, who were invited to experience the campus firsthand and explore its infrastructure and event capabilities.
A key highlight of the venue is its distinctive architectural design, featuring bold red tones symbolising strength and ambition, complemented by warm yellow hues representing energy and optimism, creating a visually striking yet highly functional business events environment.
ONGC UBCC has already demonstrated its operational readiness by successfully hosting India Energy Week, underscoring its capability to handle large-scale conferences, exhibitions and international gatherings.
Speaking at the event, Saket Gupta, Executive Director, ONGC ATI, outlined the vision behind URJATVA and UBCC, emphasising ONGC’s commitment to supporting India’s expanding business events ecosystem through world-class infrastructure and sustainable development.
As India’s convention industry continues to grow beyond traditional metro cities, emerging destinations such as South Goa are expected to play an increasingly important role in attracting conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings and incentive travel programmes.
The launch of URJATVA and ONGC UBCC marks another important step in strengthening India’s convention infrastructure and reinforces the country’s ambition of becoming a leading global destination for business events, while also contributing to regional tourism and economic development.
