1st India Taiwan Expo 2018 to take place in May

In a bid to strengthen the trade relation between the two countries, Taiwan External Trade Development Council along with industry body FICCI is to hold the first ever Taiwan Expo 2018 on 17-19 May in New Delhi.

The main focus of the expo is to explore possible areas of partnership in sectors including electric vehicles, electronics and communication, health, culture, lifestyle and green technology.

Speaking at a pre-event press conference, Walter Yeh, President of Taiwan World Trade Centre informed about the upcoming expo.

Walter said that this is for the first time such an expo is being organised in India.

He further said that with India posing itself as a fastest growing economy, Taiwan can be of great assistance along the lines of industrial and economic cooperation.

“The expo comes at a time when PM Modi is implementing a number of policies for the country including Make in India, Skill India and Startup India, Taiwan can be a potential partner for the different government policies”.

The expo is to take place from 17th to 19th May 2018 at Pragati Maidan in NEW Delhi. The expo organisers are eyeing at over 130 exhibitors from different sectors, he informed.
