7th World Environment Expo 2026 Showcases Sustainable Innovations and Strengthens Dialogue on Green Growth
The 7th World Environment Expo 2026, held from 04–06 June 2026 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, concluded successfully, reinforcing its position as one of India’s leading business and knowledge platforms dedicated to environmental sustainability, renewable energy, waste management, recycling, and green technologies.
Organized by Indian Exhibition Services (IES) in association with the Green Society of India (GSI), the three-day exhibition brought together policymakers, government officials, industry leaders, technology providers, researchers, environmental professionals, entrepreneurs, and sustainability advocates from across India and overseas. The event featured participation from over 200 exhibitors and attracted an estimated 15,000–20,000 business visitors, reflecting the growing industry focus on sustainable development and climate-resilient solutions.
The expo showcased a comprehensive range of technologies and solutions across sectors including renewable energy, pollution control, waste management, recycling, biofuels, water conservation, biodegradable products, battery technologies, energy efficiency, and environmental protection systems. Concurrent exhibitions, namely Biofuel Expo 2026, Rooftop Solar Expo 2026, World of Recycling Expo 2026, Battery Asia Expo 2026, and Biodegradable & Compostable Expo 2026, further expanded the event’s scope, creating an integrated platform for business networking, technology exchange, and investment opportunities.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament, who highlighted the importance of sustainable development, environmental conservation, and collaborative action in addressing global environmental challenges. He commended the initiative for providing an effective platform that brings together stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and civil society to advance sustainability objectives.
A significant feature of the expo was its robust knowledge-sharing programme comprising the World Environment Conference 2026, Biofuel Conference 2026, and the All India Mayors & RWAs Summit 2026. Organized by Indian Exhibition Services (IES) in association with the International Confederation of Trade and Industry (ICTI), these forums facilitated high-level discussions on climate action, clean energy transition, sustainable urban development, waste management, and environmental policy.
The conference sessions were graced by Shri Nand Kishor Gurjar, Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, as Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Neeraj Arora, Secretary General, ICTI, emphasized the need for collective action, innovation, and public-private partnerships to accelerate India’s transition towards a sustainable and low-carbon future.
One of the key sessions, titled “Inspired by Nature: Strategic Visions for Climate Action and Net-Zero 2070,” focused on climate resilience, circular economy practices, energy efficiency, resource conservation, and policy frameworks required to achieve India’s long-term sustainability goals. Another important session on “Sustainable Innovations: Greening the Future of Urban Infrastructure and Waste Management” examined emerging technologies and best practices for sustainable cities, smart infrastructure, recycling, and integrated waste management systems.
The Biofuel Conference 2026 highlighted the increasing importance of biofuels in India’s clean energy ecosystem. Discussions centred on technological advancements, feedstock availability, policy support mechanisms, investment opportunities, and the contribution of biofuels towards enhancing energy security and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
A major highlight on the concluding day was the All India Mayors & RWAs Summit 2026, which brought together mayors, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), municipal bodies, development authorities, public sector organizations, and industry representatives. Deliberations focused on community-led waste management, citizen engagement, urban cleanliness, recycling initiatives, and sustainable city planning, underlining the critical role of local governance in achieving environmental sustainability.
On the final day of the event, Shri Somendra Tomar, Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, visited the exhibition and interacted with exhibitors and industry stakeholders. He appreciated the efforts of the organizers in creating a comprehensive platform showcasing innovative environmental technologies and promoting sustainable industrial practices.
