Swadeshi Mela 2026 Set to Become India’s Biggest Platform for Indigenous Trade & Innovation
The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has announced that Swadeshi Mela 2026, billed as India’s largest trade showcase, will be held at Pragati Maidan in May 2026. The mega event aims to unite Made-in-India products, small industries, artisans, MSMEs, startups, and traditional crafts on one national platform dedicated to promoting indigenous enterprise.
Organised in partnership with Swadeshi Jagran Manch and several national-level organisations, the mela will highlight the country’s evolving domestic trade ecosystem and the rising global appeal of Indian craftsmanship, according to an official release.
A national steering committee meeting with industry and trade leaders from all states is scheduled for December 4, during which the event’s framework, theme, exhibition layout, and promotional roadmap will be finalised.
CAIT National Secretary General and Member of Parliament from Chandni Chowk, Praveen Khandelwal, said the event will demonstrate the collective strength of Indian trade, industry and craftsmanship while giving unparalleled global exposure to home-grown brands. He added that the mela will serve as a “golden opportunity” for startups, women entrepreneurs, artisans and small manufacturers to present their offerings to domestic and international buyers.
In addition to national trade bodies, leaders from the farmer community, transport and logistics, travel and tourism, MSME sector, and startup ecosystem have been invited to participate. Representatives from organisations such as Laghu Udyog Bharati, MSME Development Forum, and Federation of Small Industries Association are also expected to attend.
A nationwide outreach campaign will soon be launched to invite exhibitors from across sectors including industry, trade, startups, women-led enterprises, Ayurveda, handloom, handicraft, technology, and e-commerce. Special committees will be formed to oversee each vertical and ensure a comprehensive representation of Swadeshi products from every corner of India.
