ICPB Successfully concluded MICE Roadshow in Goa, Reinforcing India’s Position as a Global Meetings Hub
The India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), in collaboration with Goa Tourism and the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), successfully organized the ICPB MICE Roadshow in Goa from March 25–27, 2026. The roadshow brought together key stakeholders from across the MICE ecosystem to explore opportunities, strengthen collaborations, and position Goa as a leading MICE destination.
The event witnessed participation of 23 delegates from distinguished sectors, including officials from the Ministry of Tourism, National Associations Heads (Medical and Non-Medical), Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), Destination Management Companies (DMCs), and Corporate Stakeholders. The diverse representation underscored the growing importance of India’s MICE sector and its potential for global leadership.
The roadshow commenced with networking engagements and a series of business sessions, keynote addresses, and presentations by senior representatives from ICPB, the Ministry of Tourism, Goa Tourism, and IHCL.
Dr. Poonam Rajput, Executive Director, ICPB, in her welcome address, highlighted ICPB’s long-standing vision of positioning India as a global MICE hub through ecosystem development, industry collaboration, and ease of doing business. She emphasized the importance of partnerships in building a globally competitive MICE landscape.
Mr. Ranjit Phillipose, Senior Vice President Operations – IHCL (Goa), spoke about Goa’s transformation from a leisure destination into a rapidly emerging MICE powerhouse, citing strong infrastructure, connectivity, and hospitality capabilities. He stressed the need for a unified and collaborative approach to fully unlock Goa’s potential.

Mr. Neeraj Dhawan, Hon. Treasurer, ICPB, shared key industry insights, noting that India’s MICE market is projected to grow from USD 49.4 billion in 2024 to USD 103 billion by 2030. He highlighted the significant economic impact of MICE tourism, which generates higher spending, employment, and infrastructure development.
The keynote address by Mr. Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening India’s position as a global MICE destination through policy support, infrastructure development, and public-private partnerships.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of ICPB Lifetime Membership to Goa Tourism, recognizing its continued efforts in promoting the state as a premier destination for conferences and events.
The roadshow also featured presentations by the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, and the IHCL leadership team, showcasing Goa’s robust infrastructure, premium venues, and integrated service capabilities for hosting large-scale events. A presentation on the ONGC Convention Centre further highlighted the availability of world-class venues in the region.

The program also included a curated familiarization (FAM) tour of key venues such as the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium, Basilica of Bom Jesus, and Aguada Jail Museum, offering delegates a comprehensive view of Goa’s blend of heritage and modern facilities. The roadshow concluded with a gala dinner hosted by Goa Tourism, celebrating the spirit of collaboration and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the state.
