Bharat Buildcon 2026 Kicks Off with Strong Industry Participation; Draws Over 25,000 Visitors from 90+ Countries on Opening Day

New Delhi, June 18: Bharat Buildcon 2026 – One Nation, One Expo – India’s flagship exhibition for the building materials and construction sector, opened to an exceptional response at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi. The inaugural day welcomed more than 25,000 visitors, including architects, developers, builders, contractors, manufacturers, traders, policymakers, industry associations, and international buyers.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Manohar Lal, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, and Shri Parshottam Rupala, Member of Parliament, in the presence of industry leaders and key stakeholders from the construction ecosystem.

With participation from over 90 countries and more than 100 Indian cities, Bharat Buildcon 2026 has established itself as a major global business platform for the building materials and construction industry. The exhibition showcases innovations and solutions across 24 product segments, including ceramics, stone, hardware, cement, steel, plywood, laminates, furniture, sanitaryware, electricals, paints, construction technologies, and related sectors supporting India’s infrastructure and housing development.

India’s construction sector continues to be a key contributor to economic growth, accounting for nearly 9% of the country’s GDP and providing employment to over 51 million people. Valued at approximately USD 685 billion in 2025, the industry is projected to exceed USD 1.24 trillion by 2034, driven by rapid urbanisation, infrastructure investments, housing demand, industrial expansion, and government-led development programmes.

Industry observers note that large-scale exhibitions such as Bharat Buildcon play an important role in strengthening supply chains, encouraging innovation, fostering technology adoption, generating business opportunities, and promoting exports and foreign investment.

Speaking on the significance of international participation, Vishal Acharya, Director, Bharat Buildcon, stated that the presence of buyers and sourcing professionals from more than 90 countries reflects growing global confidence in India’s manufacturing capabilities. He noted that the exhibition serves as a bridge between Indian manufacturers and international markets, creating valuable export opportunities and reinforcing India’s position as a preferred sourcing destination.

Highlighting the robust domestic response, Jitendra Kathiriya, Director, Bharat Buildcon, said that participation from over 100 Indian cities demonstrates the scale and diversity of the country’s building materials sector. He added that the exhibition provides a common platform for manufacturers, distributors, architects, developers, retailers, and consultants to connect, collaborate, and generate new business opportunities while supporting multiple allied industries.

Commenting on export promotion, Nilesh Jetpariya, Chairman of CAPEXIL, said that India’s building materials industry is gaining global recognition for its quality, innovation, and manufacturing capabilities. According to him, Bharat Buildcon is helping Indian companies access international markets while supporting the government’s vision of expanding exports and strengthening the Make in India initiative.

The opening day witnessed strong engagement across the exhibition halls, with exhibitors reporting productive business meetings, substantial enquiries, and meaningful interactions with both domestic and overseas buyers. A wide range of innovative products, sustainable construction solutions, advanced manufacturing technologies, and next-generation building materials were showcased throughout the venue.

As India continues to strengthen its position as a global economic powerhouse, platforms such as Bharat Buildcon are expected to play an increasingly important role in advancing manufacturing excellence, boosting exports, driving innovation, and enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the global construction industry.

Bharat Buildcon 2026 will continue until 22 June 2026 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi, and is expected to attract thousands of additional visitors and industry professionals in the days ahead.
