Amit Juneja elected as chairman of CII Ludhiana

In a meeting held on evening of 20 February, the Confederation of of Indian Industry (CII) Ludhiana zonal unit appointed new body for 2020-21. Amit Juneja, joint managing director of Vidhata Group has taken over as the chairman of CII Ludhiana while Ashpreet Singh, director of Sehaj Solutions, has become the vice-chairman.

On this occasion, a session on making Ludhiana smart, clean, green and sustainable was also organised. The session was presided over by senior officials of district administration along with local industry members. The session was organised with an objective to deliberate on how CII can partner with the local administration to address the challenges being faced by the industry and residents. Amrik Singh, additional deputy commissioner Ludhiana, while interacting with the businessmen, assured full support in tackling civic issues/concerns faced by them.

Rakesh Agrawal, commissioner of police, Ludhiana, shared the various reforms and measures undertaken by the police administration to check crimes in the city as well as in managing traffic and reducing road accidents.

Rahul Ahuja, vice-chairman, CII Punjab, lauded the industry friendly and proactive attitude of the Ludhiana administration. “A very productive session was held by CII in which senior officials of police, administration too were present and it was suggested that a joint working group (JWG) of CII & local administration to have a continuous dialogue and work on specific civic issues confronting the city to make it a better place. The JWG will comprise police officials and representatives of other departments as well as CII members. It will be a first of its kind initiative.

Baldev Singh, the outgoing chairman of CII Ludhiana, congratulated the new team and highlighted the need for a proactive attitude both from the industry and the local administration to realise the dreams of making Ludhiana a smart city.
