On December 21, 2024, Jammu & Kashmir’s Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, inaugurated the much-anticipated IT Expo 2024. The event, held to spotlight the latest advancements in the Information Technology sector, saw participation from over 40 leading brands showcasing their cutting-edge products and services. The exhibition catered to a diverse audience, including students, the general public, and GeM (Government e-Marketplace) buyers from various government departments. key focus of the expo was to promote local traders, encouraging government IT procurements to be routed through local vendors.
In his address, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the importance of such platforms for fostering innovation and collaboration, “Organizing these types of Expo gives an opportunity to the companies to showcase the latest innovations in the Information Technology field. Besides, these also serve as a medium of exchange between local companies and national players as well” Highlighting the role of technology in today’s fast-evolving landscape, the Deputy CM remarked, “We have to be aware of the latest technological interventions as it is imperative in the present age to be competitive and being relevant” The IT Expo 2024 not only offered a glimpse into the future of technology but also strengthened the local IT ecosystem by bridging the gap between local businesses and industry leaders.
