Dubai World Trade Centre Announces Launch of Innovative Real Estate Exhibition ‘Rise’

The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), a leading organizer of world-class exhibitions and conferences including Gitex and Gulfood, has announced the launch of a new and unique real estate exhibition and trade event named ‘Rise’. This initiative aims to create a comprehensive platform that extends beyond traditional real estate showcases, focusing on broader aspects of urban development and infrastructure.

‘Rise’: A Hub for Future City Development

According to Mahir Abdulkarim Julfar, Executive Vice-president at DWTC, ‘Rise’ will serve as a central hub for those in city planning, new ways to build infrastructure, and real estate spanning decades. This vision positions the event to attract a diverse range of professionals involved in shaping the future of urban environments, moving beyond solely developers, projects, and sales transactions.

Strategic Expansion with Dubai Exhibition Centre:

The announcement follows considerable speculation regarding DWTC’s plans for a real estate-focused event, given the sector’s vital contribution to Dubai’s economy. This strategic move aligns with the upcoming opening of the Dubai Exhibition Centre, anticipated to be the Middle East’s largest single-site venue for events, with its first phase scheduled for 2026.

Julfar clarified the rationale behind this expansion, stating, “The purpose of expanding with Dubai Exhibition Centre (part of Expo City) is not just about transitioning – we’ve maxed out at the original site here (near the World Trade Centre).” He further explained, “We did a full study with the exhibition industry players and how they are looking to grow in the next 3-5 years. Based on that, we decided on the need for expansion.”

Dedicated Venues for Key Events:

Looking ahead, Julfar indicated that the expanded capacity of the Dubai Exhibition Centre will allow DWTC to host specific large-scale events, noting, “The plan is for basically for specific events – Arab Health, Gulfood, and Gitex – will all be hosted in Dubai Exhibition Centre.” This strategic allocation of venues underscores DWTC’s commitment to facilitating the growth and success of key industry events in Dubai.
