Riyadh is gearing up to host the “GREAT FUTURES” trade exhibition on May 14 and 15, a collaborative effort between the governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. This expo will spotlight business, tourism, and cultural interchange.
Heading the British contingent of 350 delegates will be Oliver Dowden, the British Deputy Prime Minister. Set against the backdrop of Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District, the two-day event anticipates welcoming around 750 representatives.
The trade expo kicks off a year-long campaign aimed at showcasing UK proficiency and merit across sectors pivotal to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Its broader objective is to foster Saudi-British partnerships across governmental and private spheres, fostering economic diversification, enhancing productivity, and bolstering competitiveness within Saudi Arabia.
The British delegation encompasses over 350 government officials and industry leaders, reflecting the strategic objectives of the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council. This council is dedicated to fortifying economic ties and facilitating bilateral trade and investment across various promising sectors.
Dowden underscored the initiative’s significance in forging future partnerships between pioneering UK companies and their Saudi counterparts in business and government. “I’m thrilled to lead such a talented delegation to this milestone event. From cutting-edge technologies to academia, the UK boasts an exceptional pool of expertise to offer the world. While our nations already collaborate closely on security and energy, we anticipate deepening these connections in areas aligned with the Vision 2030 agenda,” he remarked.
Minister of Commerce Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi expressed Saudi Arabia’s pride in hosting this significant event, uniting leading figures from business, academia, and entertainment from both nations. “This event heralds the onset of a fruitful partnership focused on innovation, technology, and our burgeoning cultural sectors. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with the UK Government and private sector to realize the aspirations of Vision 2030,” he affirmed.
