India Accelerates Aviation Innovation at Inter Passenger Terminal Show 2025 in Mumbai

India’s fast-growing aviation industry took a significant leap forward at the Inter Passenger Terminal Show (IPTS) 2025, held on June 11–12 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The high-impact event brought together leaders from the aviation ecosystem—including airport operators, government officials, infrastructure developers, and tech providers—to chart the course for smarter, greener, and passenger-centric terminals of the future.

A Future-Focused Aviation Forum:

With India expected to rank among the top three global aviation markets by 2030, IPTS 2025 arrived at a crucial moment. Discussions centred around:

  • Smart terminal architecture
  • AI-driven passenger services
  • Seamless biometric integration
  • Green infrastructure
  • Digitally connected travel ecosystems

Over 60 global exhibitors from 10+ countries showcased breakthrough solutions in baggage automation, zero-trust security, energy efficiency, and biometric-based access control positioning IPTS as a vital B2B hub for the aviation value chain.

Strategic Partnerships & Key Participants:

The event was held in strategic partnership with Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and featured influential organisations such as Digi Yatra Foundation, Dormakaba, Diamond Engineering, Waisl, Cognitec, GATE – German Airport Technology & Equipment Alliance.

The two-day conference hosted visionary panels and technical keynotes on Intermodal Transport Integration, Sustainable Terminal Design & Green Energy, AI/ML in Passenger Flow and Predictive Ops, Biometric Security & Privacy-First Solutions, Digital Infrastructure Investment Strategies.

Notable Speakers Included:

  • Capt. BVJK Sharma, CEO, Navi Mumbai International Airport
  • Prabhat Mahapatra, COO, NMIA
  • Hitarth Mankodi, COO, Mumbai International Airport Ltd
  • Suresh Khadakbhavi, CEO, Digi Yatra Foundation
  • Jens Reinhard, MD, GATE Alliance
  • Sven Deckers, Director of Innovation, Dubai Airports
  • Dr. Sumeet Suseelan, AAC Member, Ministry of Civil Aviation

Driving Sustainability and Passenger Experience:

A major focus was decarbonising airport operations through energy-efficient terminal systems and renewable integration. The keynote, “Sustainable Airport Ecosystems,” explored cost-efficient strategies for reducing the environmental impact of aviation infrastructure.

Capt. BVJK Sharma, CEO of NMIA, emphasized:

“The future of aviation lies in passenger-centric infrastructure—where design, data, and experience come together. IPTS 2025 provided the perfect platform to co-develop this vision.”

Suresh Khadakbhavi of Digi Yatra added:

“We are moving towards a frictionless, identity-driven travel ecosystem. IPTS enabled vital alignment between industry players and regulators to fast-track this transformation.”

India’s Aviation Growth Story Gains Flight:

With over ₹60,000 crore committed to airport development projects through 2027, India’s aviation infrastructure is rapidly evolving. As domestic air traffic soars, industry events like IPTS serve as crucial convergence points for policy, innovation, and execution.

From AI-powered predictive analytics to net-zero terminal ambitions, IPTS 2025 successfully set the tone for the next phase of India’s aviation growth one that is smarter, greener, and deeply connected to passenger expectations.
