INTERNATIONAL BLOCKCHAIN ORGANISATION (MALAYSIA) OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED TO DRIVE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN WEB3 AND DIGITAL ECONOMY TRANSFORMATION
The International Blockchain Organisation (Malaysia) (IBO Malaysia) was officially launched on 13th October, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s journey toward blockchain innovation, digital inclusion, and Web3 ecosystem development.
Established as part of a global initiative to foster trust, transparency, and collaboration in blockchain technologies, IBO Malaysia aims to position the country as a regional hub for blockchain research, innovation, and responsible adoption.
Held at the Confetti KL the launch brought together players from the Industry, academia and the blockchain community to witness Malaysia’s next step in digital transformation.
“Blockchain technology is not just about cryptocurrency—it represents the foundation of a transparent, secure, and decentralised future. IBO Malaysia is committed to creating a collaborative platform that connects innovators, regulators, and enterprises to unlock blockchain’s full potential across industries,” said Rolv Ressiger.
IBO Malaysia will focus on four key pillars:
- Policy Advocacy and Regulatory Alignment – Facilitating constructive dialogue with policymakers to promote responsible blockchain
- Education and Talent Development – Building blockchain literacy and nurturing the next generation of blockchain professionals through partnerships with universities and training institutions.
- Industry Collaboration and Innovation – Encouraging use cases in finance, supply chain, healthcare, sustainability, and creative
- International Engagement – Strengthening Malaysia’s role in the global blockchain network through strategic alliances with international blockchain organisations.
The establishment of IBO Malaysia comes at a time when Malaysia is accelerating its digital transformation agenda. With blockchain poised to redefine trust and value exchange, the organisation seeks to support the government’s vision for a robust, inclusive, and innovation-driven digital economy.
