After reviewing the construction, Minister E.V. Velu said that the Convention centre will be ready by Febrauary 2026. The convention centre will position Chennai as the hub for conferences, meetings and exhibitions. It will pave the way for more opportunities in the region. Currently the work of 2nd floor is under construction. The convention centre is spread in 37.99 acres. After completion it will host a whopping 91,924 sq. ft exhibition hall which will have a capacity to hold 10,000 guests, a convention hall with 5,000 seating, auditorium with 1,500 seats and a parkling space for more than 1600 four wheelers and 1700 two wheelers.
Development of the convention centre is a pivotal step as it will boost the MICE economy of Tamil Nadu and attract more investments. It will not only contribute to the economy but also empower the regional people as a source for employment.
