Maha Kumbh: Digital Exhibition Highlights Government Welfare Schemes

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has unveiled a digital exhibition at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, offering in-depth insights into key government welfare initiatives, including Ayushman Bharat and women empowerment schemes, according to an official statement.

The exhibition, held at the Triveni Marg area, creatively presents information about various government programmes aimed at socio-economic empowerment, particularly for women. Notable highlights include the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which reserves 33% of seats in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies for women, enabling significant strides in gender equality. Through this initiative, over 10 crore women have become self-reliant via self-help groups, and 1 crore women have achieved the status of Lakhpati Didis, with a target of empowering 2 crore more. Under the Nari Samman initiative, houses built under the PM was Yojana are registered in women’s names, ensuring their economic security. The exhibition also showcases the Namo Drone Didi Scheme, which equips women’s self-help groups with drones to promote self-sufficiency. Already, 1,000 women have received drones. Additionally, over 4 crore Sukanya Samriddhi accounts have been opened, with a total deposit of ₹2.6 lakh crore, securing the future of countless young girls.
