The Himachal Pradesh International Trade Fair 2024, organized by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), concluded with great success on Wednesday at the Chaugan Ground in Nahan. The three[1]day event was attended by prominent government officials, entrepreneurs, and self-help groups (SHGs), providing a valuable platform for MSMEs to showcase their products and expand their reach. Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. During the event, Khimta toured the various exhibitions by MSME entrepreneurs and SHGs, highlighting the fair’s role in empowering local businesses and promoting women’s entrepreneurship. He praised the commitment of both the state and central governments in enhancing the economic position of women through various initiatives and schemes.
Trade fair had provided a significant platform for SHGs and small entrepreneurs to display and sell products they had created, which could help them expand their businesses and reach broader markets. During the event, Assistant Director AK Gautam expressed his gratitude to the DC for his valuable contribution to the fair’s success, and gave a detailed presentation about the various development schemes initiated by the MSME Ministry

Khimta emphasized the importance of supporting SHGs, describing them as key to building a sustainable and inclusive economy. The trade fair offered a unique opportunity for SHGs and small businesses to market their products, fostering growth and new business prospects. Assistant Director A Gautam also expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his invaluable support, and presented an overview of the development schemes launched by the MSME Ministry. To honor the hard work and contributions of the participants, Khimta distributed certificates of appreciation to entrepreneurs and SHG members who took part in the event.
In addition to the 50 industries and SHGs that participated, the fair featured exhibitions by several government departments, which informed the public about schemes aimed at enhancing livelihoods and empowering local communities. The trade fair underscored the growing importance of MSMEs in driving economic development and creating sustainable livelihoods.
