The 6th edition of Odisha Travel Bazaar (OTB) 2025 commenced with a grand B2B exhibition at Swosti Premium, Bhubaneswar, bringing together domestic tour operators and tourism stakeholders from across Odisha under one roof. Organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with FICCI, the four-day event aims to position Odisha as a premier tourism and investment destination through strategic B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2G (Business-to-Government) engagements.
B2B Exhibition: Strengthening Business Collaborations:
Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida inaugurated the B2B exhibition, which witnessed participation from 100+ buyers representing states such as Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. Over 3,000 pre-scheduled B2B meetings were held between 70+ sellers from Odisha’s tourism sector and domestic and international tour operators, fostering future collaborations and business engagements.
Adventure Tourism Workshop: Shaping Odisha’s Future as an Adventure Hub:
As part of Odisha Travel Bazaar 2025, an Adventure Tourism Workshop was organized at Mayfair Lagoon, Bhubaneswar, bringing together key stakeholders, government officials, and adventure tourism experts to discuss the growth and sustainability of Odisha’s adventure tourism sector.
Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida highlighted Odisha’s diverse adventure sports potential, stating,
“Odisha stands as the premier destination for adventure sports, offering an array of breathtaking locations including beaches, dense forests, hills, waterfalls, and more. We are committed to developing these sites, not just for today, but for future generations. Our goal is to lay the foundation for Odisha’s tourism growth over the next 50 years, ensuring it remains a top destination for adventure and exploration,”
Emphasizing responsible tourism, Smt. Mugdha Sinha IAS, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, remarked,
“Adventure tourism is not just about thrill—it’s about responsible travel, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunities for local communities. Odisha’s vision aligns perfectly with India’s push for diverse tourism experiences, and we are committed to supporting this journey. The workshop began with a context-setting session by Commissioner-cum-Secretary Tourism, Shri Balwant Singh IAS, who emphasized the importance of structured guidelines to ensure sustainability and safety in adventure tourism. A major highlight was the presentation of the Draft Odisha Adventure Tourism Guidelines 2025 by Director Tourism, Shri Samarth Verma IAS, focusing on regulatory frameworks, strategic pillars, and best practices.
“From hot air ballooning to bungee jumping, from kayaking to winch parasailing, Odisha has the right kind of destinations to accommodate every kind of adventure tourism,” said Shri Verma.
The workshop saw active participation from 40+ adventure tourism operators, travel experts, and sports enthusiasts from various fields, including water sports, aero sports, and terrestrial sports, who shared insights and challenges in growing the sector.
With its strategic focus on tourism development, investment, and adventure tourism, Odisha Travel Bazaar 2025 stands as a pivotal event in shaping the future of Odisha’s tourism industry.
