On the occasion of TradeFairTimes‘ 13th Anniversary special, we asked Exhibition fraternity members as to what they think of TFT. Following are their responses.
“We are happy to be a part of the Indian trade fair fraternity’s home ground magazine” – Raj Manek
“Raj Manek, Managing Director & Member of the Board – Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings.”
TFT – What do you think about TradeFairTimes – in terms of content, articles, interviews and other sections?
RM – I have always found TFT to have balanced coverage, never one-sided or highlighting a particular organisation or association.
TFT – On a scale of 1 to 10, where do you rate TFT?
RM – 8. Mainly because of good content, design can be worked on.
TFT – Which according to you was the best edition of TFT for the year 2018?
RM – Not sure about the editions.
TFT – What would you like to suggest that can benefit TFT?
RM – The magazine can reduce the number of press releases and include more industry-oriented stories/facts/figures – as we do not have any go-to source of this for the Indian exhibition industry.
TFT – What fresh introductions would you like to see in TFT for the upcoming year?
RM – Highlight more industry challenges, industry updates – follow-up on venue, policies that can put pressure or create impact.
TFT – Would you recommend TFT to others in the industry?
RM – Yes.
TFT – Do you agree as a reader with the policies of TFT being aggressive, honest and upfront, or would you like to suggest any changes in the content?
RM – Yes.
TFT – Your review of TFT.
RM – We are happy to be a part of the Indian trade fair fraternity’s home ground magazine which is a great source of ‘inside information’ for any exhibition industry professional. The quality and relevance of the content for its target readership is commendable.
Heartiest congratulations on the Anniversary Issue. We look forward to the next read!

“Fairly comprehensive and in-depth articles. Good job” – Ashish Gupta
“Ashish Gupta, Director – MCO Winmark Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd.”
TFT – What do you think about TradeFairTimes – in terms of content, articles, interviews and other sections?
AG – Fairly comprehensive and in-depth articles. Good job.
TFT – On a scale of 1 to 10, where do you rate TFT?
AG – TFT is a good tabloid for exhibition industry, but since there is always a scope for improvement, I will rate it at 6.
TFT – Which according to you was the best edition of TFT for the year 2018?
AG – Cannot remember details of all editions, all were good.
TFT – What would you like to suggest that can benefit TFT?
AG – I have not checked the website of TFT, but we should be able to see past issues on the website. Also information should be broken into so that we can search for articles on past subjects, and not go into pdf files of each past issue and then search. You should convert all articles into web based formats just like in any e-commerce portal.
TFT – What kind of changes and fresh introductions would you like to see in TFT for the upcoming year?
AG – There should be an online Job section and a Q & A section where anybody can post a question, and get replies from anybody (See Quora).
TFT – Would you recommend TFT to others in the industry?
AG – Not sure what value TFT brings to an exhibition organiser, so there has to be some USP on the magazine that makes it referable. Right now I am not able to tell anybody to refer for any specific value. Yes, I do tell people to look when they ask about industry connected media.
TFT – Do you agree as a reader with the policies of TFT being aggressive, honest and upfront, or would you like to suggest any changes in the content?
AG – Take up where it matters the most. Being upfront with organisers is easy. Anyway, we live in glass showcases, anybody and everybody can talk anything about us. How about venues and government agencies. These need to be made answerable as both enjoy monopolistic position and attitude.
TFT – Your review of TFT.
AG – Define the value you bring to the industry in a tangible deliverable or mission statement.
