OSH India 2025 Concludes in Mumbai with Record Participation, Showcasing Global Innovations in Workplace Safety

Informa Markets in India successfully concluded the 13th edition of OSH India Expo-South Asia’s largest occupational safety and health event at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. This year event brought together over 170 exhibitors representing 300+ leading brands and 1,500+ products from 13 countries, attracting 9,000+ visitors, 150+ delegates, and more than 60 speakers. With India’s personal protective equipment (PPE) market valued at USD 2.7 billion in 2024 and projected to grow at a CAGR of 5.86% to reach USD 4.7 billion by 2033, the expo served as a timely platform to showcase cutting-edge technologies, integrated solutions, and product innovations shaping the future of workplace safety.

Innovation took center stage with the Startup Pavilion and Innovation Zone presenting disruptive ideas from emerging companies, while renowned names including Udyogi, BisonLife, UTEX, Honeywell, Aktion Safety, Hilson Footwear, Arvind Ltd, Portwest, Torpedo Shoes, HS International, among others, introduced their latest advancements.

Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa and Executive Member, National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA), India, expressed his views on occupational safety and health, saying, Occupational safety and health are not just legal obligations but moral responsibilities that directly impact productivity and national growth. The Indian PPE market, valued at USD 2.7 billion in 2024, is projected to reach USD 4.7 billion by 2033, growing at nearly 6 percent annually, reflecting rising awareness and stronger regulatory frameworks. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has introduced key reforms such as the OSH Code 2020, Shram Suvidha Portal, and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, which are driving compliance and improving worker welfare. The Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amritkal Maritime Vision 2047 provide the strategic frameworks to position India as a global maritime leader, where safety, welfare, and sustainability are integral to national progress.”

The three-day knowledge forum at OSH India 2025 brought together experts, practitioners, and thought leaders for a series of insightful panel discussions, workshops, and partner sessions. Day 1 featured a panel discussion on Safety Leadership – A Key to Transforming Safety Culture and Improving Safety Performance, moderated by Mr. Gaurang Baxi, Director, Tactise, followed by From Recovery to Rescue: A Paradigm Shift in Safety Leadership with Mr. Shreesh Nadgouda, Regional Business Head for India and South Asia, Blackline Safety. A workshop on Providing First Response to Chest Pain Victims at Workplaces (in association with Add on Safety & Surgicals Pvt Ltd) was conducted by Dr. Manjeet Singh Arora, First Aid/CPR/Safety Trainer and Disaster Management Consultant, Fortis Hospital, Bhandup, Mumbai. The day also included Driving Safety Today, Sustaining Tomorrow: A Journey from Innovation to Global Sustainability and Future Growth by MD Rafi, Founder & CEO, Bison Life Inc, and a partner session by Amit Kumar, Sr Director, Marketing, Netradyne.

Day 3 addressed technical and future-focused topics including Designing of Electrical Installations in Buildings – Challenges and Methods (powered by National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety), Ensuring Level Playing Field in Offshore Emergency Preparedness & Response Operations, Contractor’s Workmen: An Important Stakeholder in the OHS Excellence Journey, a session by Deltafour, and Integrating Occupational Health & Safety for Enhancing Wellbeing & Productivity: The Future of Occupational Health and Safety (in association with Indian Association of Occupational Health).

OSH India 2025 garnered support from esteemed industry associations, including the Indian Association of Occupational Health (IAOH), Indian Technical Textiles Association (ITTA), Safety Appliances Manufacturers Association (SAMA), International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety (NFEES) and the All India Association of Industries (AIAI), among others. These partnerships highlighted a collective commitment to advancing workplace safety standards and fostering a culture of well-being. Additionally, the event’s alliance with READ India as its CSR Partner amplifies its outreach and societal impact. Having its network in 15 States, served almost half a million in rural India through its Community Library and Resource Centers, READ India has extended its mission to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), to ensure that the knowledge gaps are filled by educating youth so that future workplace standards are shaped as per the new and upcoming standards of occupational safety and health.

This year OSH India 2025 hosted distinctive attractions such as OSH Everywhere, an initiative to amplify workplace safety awareness; the OSH Fashion Walk, showcasing the latest in PPE and safety gear; and the OSH Gurukul Conference, which featured thought-provoking discussions with industry experts. The OSH Startup Pavilion emerged as a launchpad for next- generation safety solutions, highlighting disruptive technologies from promising startups – from AI-powered risk assessment tools to sustainable protective gear tailored for future workplace challenges. Complementing this, the OSH Innovation Zone showcased groundbreaking product launches including AI-enabled PPE and smart surveillance systems, reinforcing its role as a hub for innovation in occupational safety.

The event attracted a diverse visitor profile, including senior EHS heads, facility managers, occupational physicians, safety engineers, inspectors, consultants, construction and architecture professionals, CEOs, labour leaders, and policy-makers, strengthening its position as the definitive meeting point for the global safety and health community. A major highlight was the 11th OSH India Awards, where outstanding HSE officers were felicitated for pioneering solutions across industry verticals at a glittering ceremony.

India’s journey toward improving Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is gaining significant traction, reflecting a more mature approach to safeguarding worker welfare across sectors. The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, which consolidates 13 labour laws under a unified framework, marked a watershed moment in this transformation, and recent state-level activity has added fresh momentum. In May 2025 alone, 68 labour- related regulatory updates were issued, underscoring the government’s renewed thrust on workplace safety. Parallelly, the rapid rise of e-commerce and retail has amplified the demand for PPE, with warehouse and logistics operations requiring escalated safety measures.
