RenewX 2025 Powers South India’s Clean Energy Future

The 9th edition of RenewX 2025, South India’s premier renewable energy sourcing fair, opened on 23rd April, 2025 at the Chennai Trade Centre. Organized by Informa Markets in India, the event drew enthusiastic participation, fostering essential conversations and collaborations to support India’s green transition.

The move to Chennai is a strategic decision, reflecting the region’s deep-rooted commitment to sustainable energy. After several successful editions in Hyderabad, this shift marks a significant evolution for the show, which has been well-received by industry stakeholders.

A Hub for Policy, Innovation, and Collaboration:

The 9th edition of RenewX has brought together over 200 leading brands, 50 prominent speakers, and an attendance of more than 8,000 professionals from across India. The event shines a spotlight on Tamil Nadu and the broader southern region’s leadership in clean energy deployment, manufacturing advancements, and technological innovation.

This year’s theme, ‘Driving Renewable Energy Potential, Celebrating South India’s Legacy of Excellence,’ shines a spotlight on the region’s pioneering role in solar, wind, bioenergy, hybrid storage, EV infrastructure, and green hydrogen. One of the key attractions is the Bioenergy Pavilion, which underscores the critical role of biomass, biogas, and waste-to-energy solutions in the region’s decarbonisation journey.

The RenewX 2025 Conference spans three days, providing a platform for over 50 thought leaders to discuss transformative themes like policy, finance, technology, and diversification.

  • At the inauguration, Mr. Amol Kotwal from Frost & Sullivan emphasized the accelerating global shift toward alternative energy sources, highlighting India’s strong policy frameworks that support renewable growth. He noted that decentralized energy and alternative fuels are reshaping the country’s energy landscape.
  • P. Sivakumar, President of SESI, stressed the importance of connecting manufacturers and distributors while addressing skill gaps in the renewable energy ecosystem through targeted training programs.

 

Tamil Nadu’s Leadership in Clean Energy:

Tamil Nadu continues to be a leader in India’s renewable energy landscape, with 19.6 GW of installed renewable capacity, accounting for nearly 12% of India’s total. The state ranks second in wind power and fourth in solar, including rooftop installations and CTC connectivity.

Tamil Nadu’s focus on public-private partnerships, regulatory foresight, and innovative policies has established it as a model for clean energy deployment, helping events like RenewX maintain their relevance in driving national progress.
