Sntosh Lad, the Labour Minister and district-in charge for Dharwad, has promised to secure a mega exhibition centre for Hubballi-Dharwad after raising the issue with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. While inaugurating the ‘DG Photo Exposition,’ organized by the Hubballi Photographers and Videographers’ association at Vasavi Mahal in Hubballi on Saturday, Lad emphasized the need for a large exhibition venue in the twin cities. He expressed his commitment approval. Lad also highlighted that adopting new technological tools would empower professionals to produce better work, which in turn would elevate their profession.
Arvind Bellad, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative assembly, also attended the event and praised the efforts of photographers and videographers for helping preserve memories through their work. He commended the association’s initiative to honor senior professionals in the field.
Kiran Bakale, President of the Hubballi Photographers and Videographers’ Association, mentioned that this was the seventh such exposition in Hubballi and noted how it has been beneficial for regional photographers. He expressed gratitude to Minister Lad for his assurance to provide space for the association’s office. During the event, Secretary Ravindra Katiger submitted a memorandum on behalf of the association to the Minister. The event also saw several senior photographers receiving the prestigious ‘Uttara Karnataka Chaya Ratna’ award.
