On the occasion of Global Exhibitions Day 2026, EXHICON Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of TradeFairTimes M Q Syed and Chief Experience Officer Asab Shazi had the privilege of attending a high-level industry interaction at Bharat Mandapam, hosted by the Chairman & The Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
The meeting brought together key stakeholders from India’s exhibitions, conventions, tourism, and business events ecosystem, the ITPO Chairman, Managing Director, Executive Director, General Manager – Domestic Fair Division, senior ITPO officials, the President and The Executive Director of IEIA, Vice Chairman and Treasurer of ICPB, and the Secretary of Delhi Tourism Development Corporation.

The discussions focused on India’s rapidly growing prominence as a global MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) destination and explored opportunities for greater industry collaboration in support of the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
The brainstorming session highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships, world-class infrastructure, international outreach, and collaborative initiatives to further strengthen India’s position as a preferred destination for global exhibitions, conventions, and business events.
As India continues its journey towards becoming a leading hub for trade and business events, such collaborative engagements will play a vital role in shaping the future of the industry and unlocking new opportunities for economic growth, investment, innovation, and international engagement.
