The FICCI Maritime India Conference and expo 2025 wrapped up successfully, drawing more than 4,000 business visitors and facilitating over 2,750 b2b meetings, including 760 pre-arranged sessions. The event showcased India’s rising maritime aspirations, solidifying its position as a key player in the global maritime sector.
Key speakers included union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, who highlighted the upcoming Vadhavan Port project in Maharashtra, which is expected to generate 1.2 million direct and indirect jobs while handling 300 million metric tonnes of cargo annually. Other notable speakers included Shri T K Ramachandran, Secretary of the Ministry of Ports, who discussed the numerous opportunities and initiatives in the sector, and Dutch Consul General Nabil Taouati, who emphasized the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in sustainable ports and maritime security.
Shri Shyam Jagannathan, Director General of the Directorate of Shipping, outlined India’s vision to become one of the top five shipbuilding nations globally. The three-day event hosted over 100 exhibitors, including major organizations like J M Baxi, D P World, JSW Infrastructure, Essar Ports, Marine electricals, Deendayal Port authority, New Mangalore Port authority, and many more. The exhibition featured a wide range of stakeholders, including port authorities, maritime boards, shipyards, and energy companies. Andhra Pradesh was the partner state for this year’s event.
