The milestone 10th edition of stone exhibition, Stonemart, organized on a grand scale attracted record number of visitors and generated trade inquires worth 1850 crore, the state government said as the event concluded on February 03.
Industries minister Parsadi Lal Meena said the event this year not only raised the bar in terms of exhibitors and visitors but also generated trade inquiries worth Rs 1850 crore. He also announced that the 11th edition of ‘India Stonemart’ will be held from February 4-7, 2021.
While the government promised to handhold the stone industry by making available mines, additional chief secretary of Industries, Subodh Agarwal said that the by-products of the industry such as slurry, debris and waste should be recycled and reused so that they have minimum impact on the environment and also generate new revenue streams.
RIICO managing director Gaurav Goyal said that in Stonemart out of the 35,000 visitors, 27,000 were business visitors and the mart occupied a record 45,000 sq metre area.
