In a major boost to the gem and jewellery industry, Karnataka Industries Minister M.B. Patil has proposed the development of a dedicated jewellery park near Bengaluru’s international airport. Announced at the inauguration of IIJS Tritiya 2025, organized by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the initiative aims to establish Karnataka as a key hub for the sector.
“Karnataka is proud to host IIJS Tritiya 2025, which highlights India’s exceptional craftsmanship in the gem and jewellery industry,” said Patil. “We are committed to fostering a supportive ecosystem and invite the industry to explore Karnataka’s opportunities. With our progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, and strategic location, we aim to create a vibrant hub for the sector.”
IIJS Tritiya 2025: Driving Growth and Innovation:
Held from March 21 to 24 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, IIJS Tritiya 2025 brought together:
- 15,000+ retailers
- 300 international buyers
- Hundreds of exhibitors showcasing gold, diamond, and silver jewellery
GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali welcomed Patil’s proposal, stating:
“IIJS Tritiya’s rapid growth reflects the industry’s innovation and strong global demand. With expanding FTAs and proactive government support, we are confident of achieving our ambitious export target of $70 billion by 2030. A jewellery park in Karnataka will further strengthen India’s global presence in this sector.”

Under the ‘Brilliant Bharat’ theme, the ‘Jewels in Motion’ showcase mesmerized visitors with jewellery designs inspired by India’s classical dance forms. Additionally, the Innov8 Talks session featured experts discussing market strategies, innovation, and sustainability in jewellery production.
