Milipol India 2025, a significant international platform dedicated to fostering innovation, collaboration, and dialogue within the crucial field of homeland security, commenced on 23rd April, 2025 at the Yashobhoomi (IICC) in Delhi.
Inauguration and Condolence Tribute:
The event, a collaborative effort organized by InterAds Exhibition Pvt. Ltd., India, the Ministry of the Interior of France, and Comexposium, with the strong support of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and the Ministry of the Interior, France, was officially inaugurated by François-Noël Buffet, Minister attached to the Ministry of the Interior of France.
The commencement of the event included a solemn moment as attendees observed a one-minute standing condolence, paying their respects to the families of the victims affected by the recent tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Srinagar.
Minister of State Emphasizes Growing Indo-French Security Collaboration:
In his keynote address, Nityanand Rai, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs, underscored the increasing importance of the strategic Indo-French cooperation within the security sector, particularly highlighting the potential for joint production of advanced technologies. “Together, we can enhance the capabilities of our security forces, invest in co-production with advanced technologies, and create an environment where both nations’ startups, MSMEs, and industries can collaborate, innovate, and succeed,” stated Minister Rai.
Focus on Reinforcing Bilateral Economic Ties:
Addressing the strengthening of bilateral economic relations between the two nations, the MoS noted, “France is currently India’s fifth-largest trading partner. By working together, we can make significant investments in bolstering our respective security forces, thereby creating a robust security environment that fosters innovation, co-production, and mutual growth opportunities for MSMEs in both India and France.”
French Minister Stresses Deeper Defense and Security Partnership:
François-Noël Buffet, Minister attached to the Ministry of the Interior of France, highlighted the deepening and increasingly significant collaboration between India and France in the domains of defense and security. He further emphasized the importance of expanding this strong partnership into emerging and critical areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), referencing key discussions held during the AI Action Summit in Paris on February 10–11 between the President of France and the Prime Minister of India.
