The first-ever Nepal-India-China Expo (NICE-2025) concluded in Pokhara, aiming to enhance foreign tourist arrivals from India and China while promoting business and cultural exchanges.
The three-day event has drawn over 600 participants, including 80 buyers, 70 sellers, and 75 international representatives. Organized by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board and the Pokhara Tourism Council, the expo facilitated professional experiences, networks, and created business opportunities among stakeholders from the three nations.
Positioning Pokhara as a MICE Tourism Hub:
Under the theme ‘Nice for MICE and More,’ NICE-2025 aspires to establish Pokhara as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism. While widely recognized for its scenic beauty and adventure tourism, Pokhara is also emerging as a center for business tourism and cross-border collaborations.
Strengthening Regional Ties:
Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya expressed optimism about the expo’s role in strengthening tourism, trade, and cultural ties between Nepal, India, and China. Similarly, PATA Nepal Chapter CEO, Suresh Singh Budal, emphasized the event’s importance in tapping into Nepal’s two major source markets, India and China to boost the nation’s tourism sector.
