The 2025 edition of Paperworld India, organized by Messe Frankfurt, took place from 23 to 25 January at the bombay exhibition Centre. The event, co-located with the Corporate Gifts Show, served as a dynamic platform to explore innovations in the stationery, gifting, and promotional sectors. This year, over 340 exhibitors participated, with a significant focus on sustainability and customisation.
A Year of Growth and Innovation
“This year has been a strong one for us,” said raj Manek, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India. “We’ve witnessed consistent growth since the pandemic and have even surpassed our 2019 numbers, which was a record year.” Paperworld India saw a rise in participation from segments such as educational toys, paper products, and sustainable brands. Manek highlighted the increasing demand for eco-friendly products, particularly in regions like Europe and North America, driven by stricter regulations and changing consumer preferences. “Sustainability is a major focus. In India, too, we’re seeing a growing demand for environmentally friendly products,” he stated.
Customisation Trends in Gifting
The Corporate Gifts Show also recorded notable growth in areas such as pharma packaging, customised gifting, and categories like bags, apparel, and promotional items. Manek pointed out that the personalised gift market in India is expanding rapidly, fueled by the rise of ECommerce, which has made customisation a prominent trend.
The Market Outlook
The global stationery market, valued at USD 145.21 billion in 2024, is projected to grow to USD 178.63 billion by 2029, according to Mordor Intelligence. Sustainability continues to play a pivotal role in this growth, with 68% of urban Indian consumers preferring sustainable gifts, as per the Indian retailers association. “Sustainability is not just an environmental choice but also a strategic business decision,” noted Manek. “Manufacturers are adapting to meet the demands of their buyers.”
