Spain becomes partner country for Formnext 2025

Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, the organizer of Formnext, has announced that Spain will be the official partner country for Formnext 2025, set to take place from November 18-21, 2025, in Frankfurt, Germany.

Spain’s selection as the partner country highlights its rapidly growing Additive Manufacturing (AM) sector, its commitment to innovation, and its strong international presence in advanced manufacturing. Mesago Messe Frankfurt also noted that Spain’s shared language with South American nations could further encourage broader industry representation from the region.

Spain’s Thriving Additive Manufacturing Industry

Spain has consistently been one of the top exhibiting nations at Formnext, with around 30 Spanish exhibitors participating in 2024 alone.

“We’re thrilled to be hosting such an incredibly exciting partner country and all its innovative AM firms,” said Sascha F. Wenzler, Vice President of Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “Spain is a prime example of how AM fosters industrial growth and development, even during challenging times.”

The Spanish Additive Manufacturing sector is expanding rapidly, employing over 1,200 people and achieving double-digit growth annually. According to the Wohlers Report 2024, 1.5% of all installed AM machines worldwide are located in Spain.

Naiara Zubizarreta, Director of the Spanish Additive Manufacturing Association (ADDIMAT), emphasized the industry’s potential:
“Although the market size is still small, the forecast for the incoming years is promising,”

Spain’s AM ecosystem is highly diverse, with internationally recognized system manufacturers, material producers, software developers, specialized service providers, and research institutes. Notable companies include:

1.HP Printing and Computing

2.Meltio

3.Triditive

4.Reinforce 3D

5.Supernova

For Formnext 2025, ADDIMAT and the AM network IAM3DHUB will act as supporting partners, further strengthening Spain’s presence.

“These highly engaged organisations play essential roles in Spain’s AM industry and will once again be on hand to demonstrate the remarkable potential of their country’s AM landscape along with their member companies and cooperation partners,” said Christoph Stüker, Vice President of Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Spain’s Strong Manufacturing Foundation

Spain’s Additive Manufacturing growth is deeply rooted in the strength of its broader manufacturing industry.

According to Eurostat, Spanish manufacturing has grown by 7.3% since 2014, while other leading European nations, such as France and Germany, have seen stagnation or decline. The Spanish machine-tool association (AFM) reported record sales of €2,157 million in 2023, further reinforcing the country’s industrial strength.

“Spain has an extended manufacturing tradition, with strong supply chains, distributed capabilities and a well settled innovation culture,” stated Naiara Zubizarreta.

With positive economic developments and a booming AM market, Spain is set to be a powerful partner for Formnext 2025. This collaboration provides Spanish exhibitors, industry leaders, and researchers with a global platform to enhance their influence and showcase their cutting-edge advancements in Additive Manufacturing.
