The 16th International Granite and Stone Fair, STONA 2025, successfully concluded after a four-day exhibition, bringing together industry professionals, artisans, and enthusiasts from around the world. Organized by the Federation of Indian Granite & Stone Industry (FIGSI) at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), the event reaffirmed its status as a premier platform for the natural stone industry.

Honouring Master Sculptor Arun Yogiraj

A highlight of the valedictory function was the felicitation of renowned Mysuru sculptor Arun Yogiraj, the artist behind the idol of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. His masterpiece, sculpted from “Shyam Shila” stone sourced from Mysuru, stands as a testament to India’s rich sculptural heritage.

In recognition of his contribution, FIGSI conferred an honorary membership to Arun Yogiraj, welcoming him into the stone fraternity of India.

“Arun’s creation is a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and artistry that India has to offer,” said Mr. Krishna Prasad, President, FIGSI. “For decades, STONA has been a platform to encourage and showcase talented artisans, and we’re proud to have him as part of our community.”

Global Participation and Industry Growth

STONA 2025 saw participation from 18 countries, with exhibitors displaying innovations in marble, stone, and granite. The event drew an impressive footfall of over 30,000 visitors in four days, highlighting the growing global demand for high-quality natural stone products.

“The success of STONA 2025 reflects the industry’s rising demand,” said Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Secretary, FIGSI. “We remain committed to fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration among industry stakeholders.”

Celebrating Art and Craftsmanship

Expressing his gratitude, Arun Yogiraj shared, “Being felicitated at STONA 2025 is a deeply humbling experience. Natural stone sculptures not only preserve our cultural heritage but also showcase the beauty of Indian craftsmanship. I thank FIGSI for providing a platform to celebrate this art.”

He also presented awards on behalf of FIGSI to winners across various categories.

Another major attraction was the Shilpagram stalls, which featured exquisite works by artisans and craftsmen from across India. These stalls attracted large crowds, reinforcing the appreciation for handmade crafts and natural stone artistry.
