Eastern India’s Construction Industry Gets a Game-Changer – Ranajoy Ganguly Leads the Way!

Hailing from Kolkata, Ranajoy Ganguly is an alumnus of Indian School of Business Management and Administration and has over 16 years of experience in Marketing, Business Development and Event Management. In this exclusive interview Mr. Ranajoy Ganguly will give insights about the Eastern India’s 1st Construction Expo.

TFT: Being the Eastern India’s 1st Construction Expo, please tell our readers about the Expo?

RG: The INDIA INTERNATIONAL CONSTRUCTION & EQUIPMENT EXPO 2025 will be held from 17th to 19th April 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre in Kolkata, India. This expo is held for the first time in Eastern India only focusing about Construction, Heavy Machinery and Steel Segments. The event is designed to connect suppliers, manufacturers, and industry experts to exchange ideas, knowledge, and build professional connections under one roof.

TFT: Why did you select West Bengal to organize the IICE Expo? What kind of visitors can the exhibitors expect in West Bengal?

RG: I and my team basically chose Eastern India and majorly West Bengal, Kolkata for IICE EXPO-25 because of the growing upcoming business opportunities for eastern part of India. I would like to mention few major upcoming projects as per various reliable articles, they are:

The Major Key Projects and Initiatives by the Government of India:

  • Kolkata Siliguri Expressway: A four-lane highway corridor, stretching 675 kilometres, expected to reduce travel time between Kolkata and Siliguri to 7 hours.
  • Kolkata Metro Expansion: A 100-kilometer expansion plan, aiming to connect the entire city of Kolkata, with multiple lines under construction, including the Purple Line, Yellow Line, and Pink Line.
  • Tajpur Sea Port: West Bengal’s first deep-sea harbour, expected to create 25,000 new employment opportunities, with an investment of Rs 25,000 crore.
  • Varanasi Kolkata Expressway: An 8-lane expressway, reducing travel time between Varanasi and Kolkata to 7 hours, with a construction cost of Rs 28,500 crore.
  • Kalyani Airport: A proposed second city airport for Kolkata, with the Airport Authority of India considering Kalyani as the ideal location.
  • Pujali-Uluberia Bridge Construction Project: A bridge project in Kolkata, with a total project cost of USD 383.51 million of India. And many more..

RG: The speaker list is yet to be confirmed by our end (IICE EXPO) because we want to bring the best speakers around the world, so that we can share knowledgeable insights and make every one aware about the upcoming future of construction. But as and when we finalise with the speaker list, we will update you all and in digital platforms.

We will try and cover topics related to Construction Chemicals for Buildings, Construction Material and Quality Control, Technology used for Construction, Earthquake Engineering, Concrete Testing, Underground Construction, Essentiality for Construction Heavy Machinery, Steel Importance in the Modern World, Green Construction and many more.

TFT: What are the offerings for the companies if they want to exhibit?

RG: We are connecting the exhibitors with top industry leaders, biggest manufacturers of India and collaborating the exhibitors with the renowned construction industry buyers.

TFT: The Indian Construction Market size is valued at USD 884.72 billion, what role do you think IICE Expo will play in further enhancing the market?

RG: As we are bringing the manufacturers and the buyers together for three consecutive days under one roof, IICE EXPO-25’s moto is to enhance the Construction Market more by connecting, collaborating and contributing to the construction market with the help of our exhibition.

TFT: India has ambitious net-zero targets, yet construction remains one of the biggest polluting industries. What real steps is IICE 2025 taking to promote sustainable construction beyond just discussions?

RG: We totally support Green Construction in IICE EXPO-25. We are bringing different companies who will be exhibiting products about Green Construction which includes Green Building Concept into which products or segments like green cement, precast concrete, EV heavy machinery, recycled steel and many more products will be for in our exhibition for the sustainability of our environment.

TFT: What are the efforts made to attract quality visitors rather than casual visitors?

RG: IICE EXPO has an official website https://iicexpo.in/ into which we have a page dedicated for Visitor Registration. Already we have good number of visitors enrolled themselves into our website, as well we are all over into social media platforms like LinkedIn Facebook so that it reaches to every segment into Construction World. Even we are partnered with different Construction based magazines where they publish our IICE EXPO advisement for their monthly edition. We have our Official Radio partner too (BIG FM) where they have highly appreciated our exhibition and on-air publicity will also start in a week or so for the visitors. We will be putting outside hoardings all over Kolkata for the visitors as it helps to pull and understand the agenda for our IICE EXPO-25.

TFT: Lastly, what message would you like to convey to the industry professionals and exhibitors attending the event this year?

RG: I on behalf of IICE EXPO-25 would like to cordially invite all the Industry Professionals, Exhibitors, Visitors and all the delegates for our exhibition to witness the event and to experience the new upcoming technologies of construction world.
